YOUR PROPERTY / YOUR PROJECT

Make the whole yard
work together.

A landscape project should improve how the property looks and how you use it. A fresh lawn can create space for children or pets, a planting bed can soften a fence line, and a better layout can make access and upkeep simpler. JPPM brings landscape construction and recurring property care together, so the finished yard can suit the way you intend to maintain it.

Our Edmonton landscaping service starts with the existing property. Tell us what you want to change, what you would like to keep and where the yard is difficult to use. We assess project fit, preparation and access before defining the work. A complete yard improvement and a focused sod replacement need different scopes; neither should begin with a generic package.

Preparation gives
the project direction.

Before sod, plants or decorative material arrive, we review what is underneath and what must be removed. Existing turf, weeds, roots, compacted areas and uneven ground can change the amount of preparation needed. Excavation and material handling are included where the accepted scope calls for them. Gate width, equipment access and where material can be placed also affect how the work is planned.

Edmonton’s lot-grading guidance explains the importance of directing surface runoff away from buildings and toward an appropriate outlet. A landscape refresh should consider those existing drainage paths. We discuss grading concerns before covering the ground with a new finish; decorative rock and mulch do not by themselves correct the underlying grade. Read Edmonton’s lot-grading guidance.

MATERIALS & MAINTENANCE

Choose a landscape
you want to live with.

Planting should account for the location, available room and the care you want to provide. A bed near a walkway needs a different layout from a broad fence-line planting area. Mulch, rock, edging and plant choices also affect future weeding and access. We can discuss a restrained refresh or a more substantial improvement without assuming every part of the yard needs replacing.

Sod brings an immediate lawn surface, but establishment still needs the right follow-up care. The proposal identifies preparation and installation; we discuss watering and use of the new lawn at handover. If the yard also needs a patio, retaining wall or decorative curbing, those elements can be considered alongside the landscape instead of leaving awkward transitions to solve later.

A CLEAR PROJECT SCOPE

Know what is
being improved.

Your estimate should make the installation area, materials, removal, disposal and preparation understandable. Send photos and approximate dimensions if you have them, along with any access constraints or known drainage issues. Larger landscaping projects generally begin with an in-person assessment and a personalised scope. Owner involvement helps connect the proposed work to the conditions on the property.

After construction, recurring lawn mowing, garden-bed maintenance and hedge trimming can support the finished space. These services are agreed separately so you can choose the amount of ongoing help you need. Commercial landscape enquiries are welcome too; shared access, occupied areas and property-management requirements are reviewed before the work is scheduled.

GOOD TO KNOW

Before we begin.

Can you replace only part of my lawn?

Yes, request a sod-replacement assessment for the affected area. Preparation, removal, access and how the new turf meets the existing lawn are considered before quoting.

Do you maintain the landscaping afterwards?

Lawn mowing, garden-bed maintenance and hedge trimming can be arranged separately. The construction quote and recurring service plan identify their own scope.

Can landscaping include a patio?

Yes, a wider project can combine soft landscaping and hardscaping where appropriate. We define the patio, surrounding grades and landscape work together in the proposal.
